David Loftus
A native Oregonian, David is thrilled to be featured as a character in all
three tales on "Afterhell, Vol. 2." He has recorded books for Oregon
Public Broadcasting’s "Golden Hours," done more than a dozen voices
for Dry Smoke and Whispers -- the
sci-fi detective radio drama that airs on XM Satellite Radio -- and appeared
in Willamette Radio Workshop's productions
of "Hiro and Liling," "The Hobbit," and "The Confessions of Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde." David has appeared on-stage in Portland in the Shakespeare-in-the-Parks
production of "As You Like It," Classic
Greek Theatre’s production of Euripides’ "Alcestis," and NW
Classical Theatre’s "In the Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer." David
writes freelance reviews for the Oregonian and for various Web sites, and
is the author of three books of his own. Every month, usually on the first
Monday, he reads literature aloud in a "Story Time for Grownups" at Grendel's
Coffee House at East 8th and Burnside.
Jacquie Schmall
Through a program called Junior Achievement, Jacquie Schmall learned to do radio broadcasting in high school. For several years she was a member of the Polka Dot Players, a repertory theater group in Connecticut where she grew up and completed her B.A. in Zoology at the University of Connecticut. Much later on, while living in San Francisco, she appeared in a variety of films and TV shows including "Nash Bridges." She produced a film called "Ultimate Reality" which won Best in Berkely at their film festival. Jacquie is the principal model for a line of greeting cards published by Portal Publications which have now been collected into a humorous book titled "Who's Counting, Jackie's Guide To Staying Young & Having Fun." She has also appeared in several TV commercials, and many local print ads since moving to Portland in 2002. She is currently creating her own line of greeting cards.
Susan Chapman has worked in theatre off and on for 33 years and has acting, directing and producing credits. She is primarily a character actress and is most excited by those roles that are the most distant to her own sensibilities as well ones that require radical physical changes. Some of her most treasured experiences include playing Carrie Watts in the "The Trip to Bountiful" and Mrs. Smallwood in "The Enchanted Cottage" as well as multiple characters in a series of five plays depicting 1940's radio broadcasts "Christmas from Home" for Tapestry Theatre.
